Artist: Phil Haddrick

Hi my name is Philip Haddrick.  I was born in Penola, South Australia and grew up on a sheep & cattle farm.  Ten years later we moved to Woorndoo, Victoria to a sheep farm. I have always drawn since a very young age, and love to draw animals and people.  The farm life is, with out a doubt, the best environment to grow in.  With the fresh air and freedom, we learnt at a very young age the values of life and responsibilties of working together as a family and working together in the community, thanks Mum & Dad.  

My artistic ability went to another level at the end of my high school years at Lake Bolac High School where they purchased one of my first oil paintings.  Finishing year 12 my parents encougraged me to go and explore my ability so I went to Warrnambool Tafe and then a year later I transfered and moved to Melbourne.

A few months in, I was hit by a car and I nearly lost my life. This changed my thoughts about life, my path and my art work took another twist.  I have seen a lot of Australia and it's beautiful coastlines, to the in-land lakes and rivers to the vast landscapes watching the sunrise & sunsets taking my camera and easel with me every where.  This is where my inspiration comes from, personal experiences and being in the moment allows me to draw and create from the heart.  I also started a diary writing short poems, this also helps me to vent and express myself and my life experiences.  

3 years later I moved to Brisbane, Queensland where I reside. Now having children of my own,  life is too short and this is why I want to share a part of my life and to be able to create a special gift that is one of a kind that comes from deep within - my art work.   Also with my landscapes I paint from the photos I take, then I put my own interpretation, this allows me to be more creative, from taking the real and changing the subjects comes my surrealism.  

Portraits

Portraits - Provide a photo of what ever you would like to be hand drawn whether it's a family portrait or your pets, or a sporting hero, to your pride & joy cars, boats, motorbikes, e.t.c. Price $395.00 per portrait based on unframed size A4. For different size or more than one person price on application. All these portraits are done in lead pencil on acid free paper hand drawn.

Paintings & Murals

Paintings done in Oil Pastels on acid free drawing paper or Oil Paints on canvas. I do commission work also, including Murals on walls for children’s rooms to paintings of whatever you would like.
